Week 5 - Modeling a Prop

This week we were tasked with creating a cannon prop in Maya. We could have used a reference or created our own custom cannon. I choose to make mine from scratch and was inspired to make a cannon out of nature. I sketched out some concepts and eventually settled on a cannon made out of trees.

3D Week 4 - Lego Project Part 2

For this week we worked as a group to complete our Lord of the Rings Lego scene. For my part I continued to work on the Lego horse figure by creating textures for it, altered other's Lego pieces to add to the collection, created a Battering Ram blueprint in UE4 using pieces from the library, and created LODs for all pieces I worked on.

Level of Detail - Version 0
Level of Detail - Version 1

3D Week 3 - Lego Project Part 1

For part 1 of the Lego Project I chose the horse figure for my assignment. Currently there are many different Lego horses created by Lego. However,  I felt the posable horse was best one to make.
Working out the right dimensions was a little tricky but I looked at several reference images and used the simple block and mini figure for comparison. Once I had the dimensions locked down I was able to block out the horse. From there I added more detail and made sure everything stayed lined up.

3D Week 2 - Minecraftish Level

Maya and UV Textures
For this weeks assignment we were tasked with creating a Minecraft like level. To start we created a new beveled cube in Maya and created custom UV textures for our level.
 UE4 Minecraftish Level - Desert
For my level I referenced this picture from Bryce Canyon, Utah to create a desert environment.
Using this reference I created a oasis hidden away in a desert canyon.
