3D Class First Project (UE4 Box Level)

The first class project for 3D Art was to import a UE4 mannequin into a Maya Project and to  place a primitive cube at X10X10X10 scale next to the mannequin to show the difference in scale

The next step was to take that X1E0X10X10 and bevel the edges. Then to import that cube into UE4 and use the cube to make a simple scene with materials and lighting.

When I first started coming up with a scene I thought it might be cool to make some kind of cave with a crystal in the center. Then I remembered that salt can naturally form in square crystals and I thought that would be a perfect fit for the beveled cube.

So I started making the center piece first, and I figured out how to make the material transparent, but when I did that I lost some of the materials edits and I couldn't make the crystal glow. So I came up with this idea to put glowing cubes on the inside.
I tried making a geometric looking cave to match the center crystal but I couldn't get it to look how I wanted, so I went in a different direction. Instead I made a futuristic lobby room, with neon lights to match the crystal in the center. I like a lot future designs from the 80s and that was the main inspiration for this room; that and Vaporwave music.
